I Can’t Get Enough of The First Lady!
From where I stand today and over the last 5 + years when Michelle speaks we listen (as in the First Lady). We admire her poise and how she allows the real her to shine through. She is so relatable, her style of dress is something most of us can achieve. Her interest in the health of the family and our children is a mission she took to the white house grounds by planting a fruit and veggie garden, which daily supplies the produce at their dinner table and of course we adore her taste in men.

Over the last 10 weeks we’ve come to know the First Lady of Empire and when Cookie speaks we listen. We also admire her and her quick wit she pops off business and street knowledge throughout the hour hopefully for the receiver it’s a lesson learned. But, if not she’ll get back with ya! Since the premier episode she’s been team Lyon Family Empire I mean after all we were introduced to her as she came out of prison doing time for the sake of her family. From what I can tell Miss Cookie is the one making moves and closing music deals. Looks as if she made it home just in time! So, moving on…I know you’ll been checkin Cookies Closet, right! If not hit the link this is where you’ll find some major cute looks, the when, where and in action. You know she’s crumbling somebody’s cookie in each and every episode. We know Cookie is no five and dime chick; so she’s giving us tips on how to achieve the look on a dime so to speak alongside of the pricey look.

HONEST TO GOODNESS THEIR GREAT!
The Honest Company – Not only do I love the name but the butterfly log is a symbol of being free and that’s exactly what these product are free of a lot of things that harm the environment and can be harmful to one’s health.
On first glance of this product it pulled me in with the bright and lively packaging; very uplifting. At the time of intrigue I had not even paid attention to the name of the product but the Butterfly Logo was symbolic of freedom in my mind. Upon examining the ingredients of these products I found that my mind had made the right assumption. As if the bright shining package and being free of everything wasn’t enough I looked up and the brand name “The Honesty Company” SOLD, that’s what I am.
Into the basket went Dish Brush, Soap, Towels and a bottle of Fruit & Veggie Wash these items would be perfect for my trial. Recently I’ve become more attracted to brands that are Eco-Friendly and Non-Toxic…I need a clean, pure, free of all the junk that’s out there product to keep my home clean and fresh at all times.
FRESH, PURE AND CLEANS…HONEST!
Just so you know these products are quite powerful I don’t want to put a lot of push behind the brush or give up a lot of elbow grease so to speak. I like to work smarter not harder even when it comes to household chores. The Honest Company fits the bill in this department and the product is not overpowered with perfume and or a scent. What I’ve encountered is a fresh clean no descript smell that allows me to layer the scents that I love in the home with out any competition with my cleaning supplies.

Mirado Black Warrior Pencil

A Pencil With Style!
I haven’t quite decided what I love most about this pencil the fact that it’s black in finish with the gold lettering, that it bears two gold hearts (which are a favorite or mine), it’s made with cedar wood, smells good, writes smoothly and always in my experience sharpens to a fine point or the fact that it blows my mind that it carries the name Black Warrior! Kudos to Paper Mate!!!
In this day and age where everyone wants to make a statement fashion or otherwise this pencil fits the task. I never had so many people comment on my pencil in life. Looks great in your jacket pocket and just down right fashion forward while writing!
I know you’re probably thinking who the heck cares about a pencil let alone takes the time to write about it. Hopefully with all the writers out there, there’s one or two that still appreciate a good old pencil and paper versa the keyboard on the smart phone, tablet or iPad every now and then.
This Pencil Is A Warrior
I guess I’m just old school like that…often times things cross my mind that we used in the yester years some I’m glad that a better solution was developed but other I truly miss. The art of letter writing happens to be one of the oldie but goodie things that I use to do that I miss. I loved having pen pals across the country that I could drop a line (letter/note). I would often drop by the card shop and spend hours picking out cards to pop in the mail to a friend to put a smile on their face. Of course when I would write a short note in the card and sign my name I never used a pencil but you better know a cute ball point pen was in hand and a wax seal or sticker always made its way to the back of the envelope.

Any who, we’re talking pencils not pens. So I’ve made it a point to take pencil to paper this year, I’ll write letters and when I want to flush out a thought or maybe just plain ol doodle… yes doodle, I’ll be sure to do it with my Paper Mate Mirado Black Warrior it just feels so good in my hand!!
Empire: Cookie Lyon Roars

COOKIE IS EVERYTHING
Cookie – Here we go! So there was quite a bit going on in this episode of Empire, Cookie was getting everybody together. After the roll in the hay with Luscious, Cookie reminisced about the day she had to leave her family after being found guilty of her crime. Luscious sang the song “Beautiful” to Cookie and said he would wait for her. Well we all know how that ended, now that there’s Anika hanging around and will do anything to the First Lady of Empire. Any who, my girl Cookie was sure to let him know that she was closed for business “If you want Cookies Nookie you got ta ditch the bitch aka Anika, Boo Boo Kitty or Fake Ass Lena Horn pick the one ya like! Luscious did take the time to confess that he had been looking for Cookie in every women he had been with since she went on her 17 year vacation.
Anika – Was much aware of the little reunion as she called the roll in the hay between Cookie and Luscious but she was red hot and still heating when Cookie informed her of the Big Reunion…boy that Cookie knows how to reach out and touch a bitch without laying a hand on her! Mean while back at the ranch, Anika found out about the insurance papers that her father signed and vowed that if her father goes down for the illegal signature everyone and thing sinks with the ship! She used the wedding as her bargaining chip and made Luscious move the date up to lets just say NOW!!!
Jamal – Put the Family Legacy Album in jeopardy when he decided to come out on his father’s famous hit “Beautiful” he switched up the lyric after getting advice from Luscious “ Tell Your Truth In The Music” and Jamal did just that spoke his truth and is feeling free and fine!
Luscious – On the other hand…was all smiles at the White Party, strolled in with Anika at his side and they were dressed to the 9’s. But when Jamal switch the lyric from women to man; that wiped the grin off his face and it kind of reminded me of the reaction you get when a room gets so quite you can hear a mouse piss on cotton! That pretty damn quite!!
Hakeem – Has decided that Camilla is the one for him after heart break, more like embarrassment. Hakeem had to accept that two can play the game of having a side piece. Since Cookie and Hakeem have come full circle in their Mother Son relationship he no longer needs Camilla to be Ma. Nor does Camilla want to continue on with this Mamma game because she’s too hot & young for that! But, Cookie did put Yoko Ono aka Old Camilla, Auntie Camilla or Cougar Bitch on notice that she is no longer needed to deal with or take advantage of Hakeem with his Mommy issues. Oh and by the way Cookie planted Camilla under a shade tree before she exited the scene. “So Yoko here wants to play on the song too, what can you do Yoko Ono can you play the tambourine?” That’s what you call a Cookie Check and I’m more than sure she can cash it!
Andre – Running around in cahoots with Vernon and pimping his wife out as geriatric whore all to be the head of the family business. Luscious knows that he’s making moves behind his back and voices that the trust is not there. Luscious informed Dre that he knew he could not trust his son once he married a white woman. Luscious made it clear “It’s a family business and the business goes to someone that cares about family.” Andre leaves feeling dazed and confused as he sits in the recording booth playing Russian Roulette with the Great Pretender playing in the background. Somebody better slap Andre and get him straight
We wrapped up with Cookie sitting in her cell singing “Beautiful” pan to the family picture on the wall. Can’t wait to see what’s to come!!

It’s Wednesday and it’s time for the Sexy, Crazy, Cool, Awesome world of the Lyons Empire!
Let’s see who comes out of the den roaring. Get your drinks and snacks lined up, set back and watch the #CookieMonster go to work.
Last week Cookie put everyone on notice that not even her sons are allowed to mess with her makin her coins! Empire gave us; showcases, love lost, drugs and drug addicts, fighting, long lost unknown children popping up and, lets not forget the snake in the grass Anika slithering through. Not sure what we’re in store for this week but the one thing I’m sure of is Anika’s little stunt she pulled with Empires first artist did not make the impact that she hoped for. The show did go on, and on and on.
Anika thought she would play cookie like a fiddle but while she was playing, Cooke took her to school. Lucius gave Cookie the green light to convince the buyers as to why they should be on board and Mama Lyon sold that shit!! See that’s what happens when you think you can crumble Cookie… you get eaten.
EMPIRE THE SCHOOL OF LYONS
When we left off last week Cookie was up on her high horse literally and it looked as if she rod it like a champ. Baby when she walks up to the plate she knock’s it out the park, that damn ball boomeranged back and slapped Anika dead in the face. Sooner or later they all will believe that Cookie is definitely back to get her piece of the Empire! That’s what she said……….

I Don’t Care What You Call Them…Just keep them in house!
Pajamas – Clothes for wearing to bed and sleeping in, usually consisting of a loose-fitting shirt and pants / trouser.
This is how I’ve always known Pajama’s to be described. The stand out words in this description are CLOTHES FOR WEARING TO BED AND SLEEPING!! With the 21st Century came whole new definition, which I can’t seem to find in the dictionary.
Bed time is a time of comfort and coziness. For me what makes a good night sleep is a well-made bed and my Pajamas. I don’t know about you but I love love love being in my jammies, it takes me back to my younger days when living was easy and I had not one care in the world.
There’s days I don’t come out of my Pajamas…
Like a Saturday morning when I jump out of bed and move to the sofa for a lazy morning of coffee and some quality time with my TV. Could be, I’m not going out of the house that day and I just want to have that relaxed warm fuzzy feeling. Or I’ll jump in a bubble bath slide into a clean pair of pajamas and lavish in the cozy comfort all day long. And, then there’s those sick days when you can’t get yourself together enough to come out of the pair you slept in. But the one thing I never do is wear pajamas out my front door…well maybe once a week to get the newspaper out of the front yard, on second thought bushes! Yes, I still have the Sunday Times delivered; just old school like that!
Back to the 21st Century!
Today while cruzing on the computer in my jammies, I ran across a new luxury pajama brand by the name of Sleepy Jones. Sleepy Jones pajamas are as well made as a designer shirt. The brand was conceived by menswear creative guru Andy Spade and his design team. They were designed for lounging around the house but also are said to be made to pair with a blazer to go out on the town. Why get this they even designed a party-ready pair so you will never be tardy for the party! TURN UP!!!

EMPIRE ALERT!!! Today’s news reads… “Fox’s Empire is Now Tied With CBS Thursday Night Football in Live +7 Adults 18-49 Ratings.” Let me tell you….don’t count out the 50 and beyond where tuning in religiously as well!
I love the fact that Empire the newest Drama from the house of 20th Century Fox has taken over their hour of Prime Time Television on Wednesday nights. I know the night time soap genera well after putting in some years with the King of Prime Time, God Father of Night Time Soaps, Mr. Television himself Aaron Spelling. I knew Empire would be a hit from the moment the footage began to roll at a private screening I attended. Aaron made many bubbles rise during his day with Dynasty which was filmed on the 20th Century Fox Back Lot. The formula continues on in this project set to Hip Hop Music.

I mostly watch TV for entertainment value to take me away from my daily problems, issues and thangs. Yes, THANGS just like that! I can remember back in the day when I first set down to learn the game of Monopoly. Those early years of learning where not fun. You had no chance in double hockey sticks at winning. Yah, first it’s all roses but once the game went into the competition level compassion for you being a beginner or being the young one in the bunch went straight out the window.
You learned early on that you wanted to own Board Walk and Park Place so that you could collect lots of money every time someone parked on your property! But before you could get to owning property on the board you had to go through whatever was determined as the pre-game to pick your personal game piece. The Car, Hat, Dog, seem to always be the first to go…so I always ended up somewhere around the Thimble on down!

Since you couldn’t root for yourself to be the winner, even though you kept the vision in your head. You always listened and sided with one of the other players and took their direction, which was mostly for their gain in the game but that was okay!Eventfully you learn to play the game, kept the vision alive and became the Cum Laude, Grand Puba, Master, King or Queen of the Hill! You’re now one of the kids that get to set at the big table like at Thanksgiving!
What’s Your Opoly?
What reminds me of it all you may ask, my grandchildren have requested to move into more advanced board games; Monopoly by name. You’ve already heard my youthful experience but now days it doesn’t have to be soo… ya know, while trying to get the concept. They have more version of this game that has the tail end of their name as opoly than I care to count! Monopoly Junior to Millionaire you can play on line as a card game, TV Shows to Animated Characters have version. Why from time to time we play at this little burger joint with golden arches and then there’s the lottery and I’d be remised if I left out the occasional chance I take at the slots on a trip to the casino! Now that I think of it learning to play this Hasbro game must be classified as a right to passage! Here’s a fact that I didn’t know when I set down to write this post…this is the month of Monopoly’s Birthday. Happy Birthday Monopoly!!!

Colours of Love
EROS Passionate, physical, and emotional. It’s fiery and creates sexual contentment as well as sexual security. The kind that gives you butterflies in your stomach makes your body tingle in places below your neck. This love can be dangerous and irrational it can take hold of you and possess you.
PRAGMA This type chooses their partner based on a rational decision. It’s a long standing love that’s understanding and develops between long-married couples, its practical and realistic. This style is usually approached in a business-like fashion with people whom share common goals it’s about standing in love and making an effort to give love rather than just receive it.
LUDUS A Ludic lover wants to have fun, it’s a game, no intent on a serious relationship and trust they want to win as many partners as possible it’s all about the moment therefore their encounters (no way I can call it a relationship) tends to and will be short. It’s just playful love, flirting and teasing!
STORGE Friendship based love, this type of love wants a companion who shares the same likes and dislikes and a partner whom bases the relationship on closeness, trust, security and affection this love grows slowly out of friendship and requires commitment rather than passion. This love can also be found with your friends by showing loyalty and sacrificing for them.
AGAPE Selfless love that you extend to all people, family members and strangers. It’s the highest form of Christian love, it’s universal, loving and kind and willing to sacrifice anything for their partner it’s unbreakable, committed and unconditional.
MANIN/PHILAUTIA This love needs to be loved by their partner and flows out of low self-esteem. Lovers of this sort usually become very possessive and jealous. It’s unhealthy and is associated with narcissism, self-obsessed and absorbed only focused on oneself.
UNDEFINED I believe there is a 7th type of love which has not been defined this love is a combination of the 6 types defined above. This love is a love that follows the heart and when defined types start to come to play and form a presents in the relationship you may experience behavior of one or more of the defined types in a certain situation.

Whether you’re ready or not, if you like it or not Valentine’s Day is in your face! Yah, I know it’s been tough walking in the mall or any store for that matter, all you see is hearts, cupid, big puckered lips, red, pink and someone or something telling you how you should express your love! I’m here to tell you it’s not so bad. Valentine’s Day is a time that I show the special people in my life that I’m either in love with them or just plain old love them for who they are to me. Hey I don’t know about you but, I have mad love for my friends xoxo.
Everybody Needs Love
If you’re in a relationship with your own personal Sexy Chocolate or not it doesn’t matter, you have other relationships don’t you? If not, that’s another article! Not that any of you give a hoot but my main squeeze is a sexy milk chocolate…yours might be white chocolate with or without nuts, it just doesn’t matter as long as it’s the one for you! If you don’t have one special person to love on, remember it’s ok to love on yourself. Put on what makes you feel good I mean dress to the 9’s as my grandma would say. Call up your home girl or boy and hit the town, buy yourself the best dinner you can afford and toast to being in love with you!! Or Put on sweats and grab a good book or movie pour your favorite cocktail or maybe consult the chiefs if you know what I mean. This day is all about feeling good!!
Now, if your in the mood for a hot, steamy, sexy good time you can check out the long awaited Fifty Shades of Grey. Word on the street is this movie will give you all of the above and more! This is just a few suggestions, get creative remember you’re responsible for your own happiness!
So I’ve been to the stores and have the receipts to prove my love! It’s not all about spending money but that just how I roll! I’m all about creating special moments for the people in my life, I really want them to feel special and valued. Since I dedicated this year as my year of RESTORE FAITH I will continue to incorporate my love for pink, red, bling and glitter into the world of the ones that I love!
